Create an instance

Choose a configuration, review it and open your new database.

An instance is the database deployment your application connects to.

Screenshots show a local preview. Create a live instance in the console before connecting.

Choose New instanceStart from the instance list in your organization.
Choose the configurationReview the plan, region and settings you need.
Review and createCheck any quoted cost before confirming a live request.
Wait for ReadyThen open Connect for this instance’s connection details.

1. Open Instances

2. Choose the configuration

Create an instance form with Free selected, the name docs-demo, development environment and Mumbai region — Choose a plan, enter a name and select the environment and location.

Which settings should I choose?

Free: use the supplied starting configuration and review its limits.
Dedicated: choose the offered compute, storage, recovery and network options.
Environment: label the instance for development, staging or production.
Location: choose an available region; a live quote confirms availability and price.

For production, review deployment options and replication limits.

3. Review, then confirm

In a live console, follow the displayed quote, payment or approval step and wait for provisioning to finish.

4. Open the instance
